Hey peeps! I'm writing about my Halloween today... it was pretty fun, but there were still some bad-ish parts about it. ANYWAY, in the morning, as usual, I got up at around 11:30. I checked my messages on my new cell phone and texted Rachel (~
1gymnast1) and Emily (~
kakashigirl1995) at the same time while I was on the bathroom, so I stayed in there for a really long time because whenever a text went out another text came in. Finally I went downstairs and watched Spongebob for an hour or so. My dad came downstairs and brought me breakfastAnnie's Chocolate and Vanilla Bunniesand I ate them. After that, I suggested that we go see the Harry Potter Exhibit and the Science Museum. Dad and I got ready, and then we went to the library, hoping to get passes. They were all out though. And while we were there, I had to return my Pendragon book (that I wasn't finished with) that was already overdue, which I will have to pay for one of these days...
Anyway, the passes were all out, so we just decided to go regular. We drove into Porter Square, parked the car, and went into the subway station for the red line train. We rode the red line (without being separated) to Park St. where we got off and changed for the green line train. After we got off the green line at Science Park, we walked over to the science museum. As soon as we walked in the door we saw the giant horse chess piece that Ron rides in the first movie. It was amazing! I wanted to get on and ride it!
When we went to pay, we looked at the prices... 26$ for an adult, 23$ for children. That would be a total of 49$, and we really can't afford to pay that much these days! Daddy thought that it would be around 10 or 15$. We really should have gotten that pass earlier in the week. I started to cry... I didn't want daddy to spend that much money, but at the same time I wanted to go see the exhibit. Daddy said we could go, even though I was a bit unsure to whether he was actually willing to spend that much money or if he just did it because I was crying. Either way, we got tickets, and the guy also gave us free tickets to the regular museum for another time.
We went up the stairs an came to the entrance. There was a small group of people there, and it moved quickly. The group stopped at a platform with a stool on it. A guy with an authentic British accent explained some things to us. Then he asked for a volunteer. I raised my hand, but another girl was picked. The guy asked her what her favorite house was. She said Gryfinndor. Then he put the Sorting hat on her head and it announced (through speakers on the walls) that she was in Gryfinndor. Then he asked for another volunteer, and I was picked! He asked me what my favorite house was, and I said Ravenclaw. He said, "Ah, a bit of a brainiac then?" I smiled and said yes. because it's true. The hat announced I was in Ravenclaw. After that, another person went and was sorted into Slytherin because she didn't know much about Harry Potter. When that was over, we went into a dark room and watched clips of Harry Potter movies. Then the curtain lifted and we all walked into a room with multiple props set up, and it went on like that for the rest of the exhibit. It was AWESOMEthere were the actual clothes worn by the cast, Harry's glasses, their dormitory beds and nightstands, almost everybodies' wands, the sorcerers stone and time turner, everyone's outfits and robes, Harry and Draco's broomsticks, the Quidditch balls, Professor Umbridges office with the paper that says "I will not tell lies", the Gryfinndor common room message board, educational decrees, some stuff from the great hall including Bertie Bott's every flavor beans and Chocolate Frogs, Hagrid's hut with his chair (I sat in it with my dad!), a thestral baby (one of my favorites), Buckbeak the hippogryff, and pretty much anything and everything else you could think of!!! It was SOOOOO MUCH FUN!!!
After we sucessfully rode the trains back, we were starving. As we arrived and drove into the driveway, we saw that many people were already trick-or-treating. We weren't home and we didn't have any candy! When we got in, I relaxed and watched TV. The doorbell rang. It was Susannah, Allison, and Erin. I said, "Hey guys! What do you want?""Candy.""Well, we don't have any candy. Sorry!" The next time I was nicer. "Hey there! I'm really sorry, we just got home, and we don't have any candy. Sorry about that!" I finally ate dinner, and mom suggested that I don't go trick-or-treating this year. I really wanted to. So I partially got into my equestrian costume, skipping the white shirt and my riding boots, and rode my stick horse Snowflake into the darkness with my dad. Nobody else was out trick-or-treating anymore. It didn't feel like Halloween. I was depressed. We didn't trick-or-treat nearly as far as we usually do, because it didn't feel right. I got some candy, but I didn't really care. Now I'm tired and a bit sad, because:
a. My dad spent too much money
b. Halloween wasn't very Halloweenie.
But overall, I'd have to say it was a pretty good day on the Annie scale. I had some major fun.
